DETROIT (WXYZ) - 7 Action News investigator Scott Lewis provided live updates from Federal Court in Detroit in the Kilpatrick corruption trial.
Court is over for the day.
Rosendall is off the stand after 3 days of testimony, but not before admitting he got a much lighter sentence of cooperating with the government and agreeing to testify.
However, prosecutors were also able to get Rosendall to admit he never felt the need to give cash and champagne to another consultant who was working in Lansing.
Government lawyers say Rosendall gave champagne and cash to Bernard Kilpatrick, in order to keep Kwame Kilpatrick from killing his city contract.
Bernard Kilpatrick's lawyer says he was doing legitimate consulting work.
Testimony is underway in day 58 of the city hall corruption trial in Detroit Federal Court.
Defense attorneys continue trying to chip away at the credibility of the government's star witness James Rosendall who wore a wire for the FBI while allegedly paying bribes to former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's father, Bernard.
Rosendall is now being questioned by attorney John Shea who represents Bernard Kilpatrick.
This is Rosendall's third day on the witness stand.
During his last day of testimony on Friday, Rosendall admitted to several lies while being questioned by defense attorneys.
