There is outrage and calls for peace from pastors in the city of Detroit after shots were fired into a crowd this weekend where one of the well-known pastors was speaking.

The violence hasn't stopped and now serious threats are being made against the pastor and his family.

Community leaders gathered today - saying the violence must stop.

A Facebook Live video from over the weekend showed community activist Maurice Hardwick, also known as Pastor Mo, speaking at a peaceful street ministry event at a car wash on Detroit's west side.

A gunman then stole a pair of designer sunglasses from someone in the crowd and as he ran away, fired several shots.

He was tackled to the ground by a member of the Live in Peace Movement - and later arrested by police.

Thankfully no one was hit, but since, Pastor Mo says he's been getting threats, some so serious, he couldn't go to church on Sunday.

"They made a threat saying they're going to kill my children,” he says. “Feel so disrespected. I work my butt off for this city."

Dozens showed up today to stand behind Pastor Mo at the same place where the incident took place over the weekend.

After strong words about the threats, together, the pastors prayed for peace and for everyone in the community they serve every day.

The community leaders say they are going to continue to rally together - for peace - because all lives matter.

In the meantime, police say they are investigating the threats.
