A Detroit EMS worker could soon be formally charged with possessing child pornography.
We've confirmed that a Detroit EMS worker is locked up at the Macomb County jail.
He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, at which time his name will be made public.
Deputies specializing in computer enforcement arrested the man, who is in his 40s, yesterday.
He was taken into custody for alleged possession of sexually abusive material involving a child. Beyond that, the specific circumstances of his arrest remain unknown.
We’ve received the following statement from Detroit’s fire commissioner responding to this disturbing development:
We cannot comment on an active criminal investigation. Once we were made aware of these allegations and charges, we immediately suspended this employee without pay. We also have contacted the state to explore the possible revocation of his medic license.
