Police are investigating after a 6-year-old child died in southwest Detroit on Tuesday night.
7 Action News is being told the child's father accidentally ran over his son in the 7300 block of Parkwood.
The man told police he put the boy in the backseat of the car. However, he must have somehow gotten out and was behind the vehicle when his father backed up.
We're told the little boy died from his injuries.
