Detroit Land Bank's demolition director resigns after 7 months on the job

City of Detroit officials confirm to 7 Action News that the Detroit Land Bank's director of demolition has resigned after only 7 months on the job.

Rebecca Camargo's resignation is effective September 1. No reason was given.

Several people connected to the city's demolition efforts have resigned over the last year, as the Land Bank has come under increasing fire.

Craig Fahle, Director of Public Affairs issued the following statement on behalf of the Detroit Land Bank Authority

Rebecca Camargo has resigned as Director of the DLBA demolition program effective September 1st.   Deputy General Counsel Tammy Daniels will step in as the interim director.  Incoming Executive Director, Saskia Thompson will name a permanent director sometime after starting her new role at the DLBA on September 5th.  We thank Rebecca Camargo for her more than three years of exceptional service to the Detroit Land Bank, and wish her well in her future endeavors.

No replacement has been named.
