Investigators are searching for a gunman who killed a man on Detroit's west side Monday night.

It happened in front of a home on Archdale near Diversey.

Family members say 27-year-old Jabrelli Giddins was gunned down while taking his dogs out just before midnight on Monday

His mother says Giddins was shot twice in the back and once in the head.

Police say Gibbons girlfriend heard the gunshots and ran out of the house to see what happened. Police say she saw the gunman bending over her boyfriend's body searching his pockets. Then the gunman took off running.

An eyewitness describes the suspect as a black male about 5'9" wearing a black and white or grey and white jacket or hoodie with pockets and sweatpants.

Family members are planning a vigil in front of Gibbons home on Archdale at Diversey.  The vigil starts at 7:30 pm.
