One man’s vision has become the mission of many more.

Pastor Barry Randolph of The Church of the Messiah at East Grand Blvd and Lafayette in Detroit in committed to rebuilding the community with help from the people in the church and the neighborhood.

He’s a pastor with a unique delivery, method and edge. Pastor Barry keeps it real, he says.

“I didn’t want to be the type of preacher that actually just sat around in the church with a Cadillac with the suit, dressing the part”, says Pastor Barry.

This is a place where those who were once thieves and thugs, who were the problems in their neighborhoods, become part of the solutions. Pastor would have it no other way.

A place where you walk out different, than how you walked in.

“You have to come and see for yourself, some things are better left unsaid, you have to come,” says member Melvin Bullock Jr.

All of the programs, everything that is done inside this house of worship for any Metro Detroiter who walks through the doors is accomplished by volunteers or comes out of the Pastor Barry’s pocket.
