Detroit police continue to crackdown on car thieves. Monday, officers with the department’s Commercial Auto Theft Section, known as C.A.T.S, busted a suspected chop shop on the city’s west side.

Information lead officers to the aging commercial building at the corner of Colfax and Tireman.

Once inside, they discovered an employee preparing to ship parts to customers who ordered them online. An investigation revealed some of the parts were suspected of being stolen.

Officers confiscated dozens of vehicles. A 25-year-old Canton man was taken into custody.  He is facing several charges, including operating a chop shop.
