Detroit police celebrated the lives of two heroes on Thursday, offices who died in the line of duty.

They unveiled special plaques decided to Capt. Kenneth Steil and Cpl. Myron Jarrett and presented the honors to the families of both officers.

Steil was shot last September and later died due to a medical complication.

Jarrett was killed in November when he was hit by a driver during a traffic stop.

Chief James Crag honored the men and their families saying Detroit police has dealt with enough shootings and deaths involving officers.

The plaques will be mounted on the fallen officer memorial wall and unveiled at Detroit Public Safety Headquarters.
