Detroit Police search for suspects in carjacking of 91-year-old man

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help to find four men wanted in connection with the carjacking of a 91-year-old man.

The carjacking happened Monday at around 10:30 pm in the area of Linwood and Taylor, on the city's west side.

Police say the victim was approached by the suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun. Officers say the man with the gun ordered the 91-year-old out of his burgundy 2004 GMC Envoy and made him lay on the ground.

Police say the men then got into the vehicle and drove away.

The department has released surveillance pictures of two of the suspects in the case. The other two suspects are only described as young African-American men dressed in all dark clothing.

A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
