DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit Public Schools Community district is investigating allegations against multiple teachers accused of misconduct with students.

One of the investigations into misconduct involves a teacher at Bagley Elementary in Detroit. The other involves a teacher at Davis Aerospace Technical High School at Golightly.

Here is what the school district is telling us. A teacher at Davis Aerospace Technical High School at GoLightly is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

The district sent 7 Action News a statement saying in part, “The employee was immediately placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.”

At Bagley Elementary the investigation started after someone sent out an email to many people including 7 Action News. The email aimed to expose that parents were allowing their children to stay with a teacher at a hotel.

7 Action News spoke to one parent on the phone who said the teacher was helping her and her child. She said her child was not a victim of any inappropriate behavior.

The district released a statement saying the teacher was, “ placed on administrative leave, and the matter is currently under investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that parents allowed their students to spend the night with the teacher at a hotel. We are asking families to notify employee relations if your child has experienced any uncomfortable situations with any employee.”

Detroit Public Schools Community District Police are investigating. So far neither staff member has been charged.

If any student has had an inappropriate interaction or relationship with any district/school employee, please email dpscd.compliance@detroitk12.org or call employee relations at 313-873-6891, requested the district in a press release.
