In 2008, Karea Greer had everything going for her.

The 27-year-old was a working mom and a student at Wayne State University, studying criminal justice with the hopes of becoming a prosecuting attorney.

Her life was cut short while she was at her uncle’s house with other family members in the 7000 block of Doyle near Van Dyke on Detroit’s east side.

When the bullets started spraying many dodged for cover.

“By the time I went back outside, I discovered Karea had been shot on the porch,” said Karea’s sister Kareemah Greer.

Karea was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

The shooting stemmed from some type of argument at the home earlier in the day and the gunmen came back later and started shooting.

“It took me two years to figure who the guys were and what they look like,” said Kareemah. “Now I see them on the regular and I can’t do anything about it.”

Police don’t have enough evidence to solve this cold case loved ones are hoping someone out there does.

“We need closure in our life because you took my child’s life,” said Sherri.  “I’m asking someone please.  It’s been 8 years.  And we need type of closure.”
