DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit Police have arrested 4 people after an altercation at Lafayette Coney Island.

They say window glass was broken by a man, who also had his knife confiscated just after 12:30 pm.

“I’m so shocked by this. I love their coney dogs and always come here for lunch.” says customer Larissa Jones.

Jones says she was stunned to hear that a man pulled a knife on workers.

We’re told federal agents eating at the restaurant detained the man, until the police arrived.

“Our customers safety is always a number 1 priority and we will have the glass windows fixed shortly” says owner Avdeja Purdoac.

Detroit Police are still trying to figure out what prompted the incident.

They do insist this is isolated, and anyone should feel safe visiting this part of downtown and it’s restaurants.
