Free health event to be held in Detroit on Saturday, August 6th

The ninth-annual "MAN UP! For Better Health" event featuring free screenings for prostate cancer, high blood pressure or glucose levels, eye issues, stroke risk, hypertension and other health-related issues will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) - Northwest Campus, 8200 W. Outer Dr. .

The free family health fair will also offer food, entertainment, giveaways and educational presentations. A free 5K run/walk will kick off the event at 9 a.m., with participants asked to arrive at 8:30 a.m.

In addition to the health screenings, guests can do Zumba and yoga and attend cooking demonstrations. Again all events at MAN UP! are free.
