Several people got stuck in high water after heavy downpours while trying to drive under railroad overpasses in southwest Detroit.

Not one but two spots on Livernois had high water, at Toledo Street and about a half mile north at John Kronk.

People thought they could make it through, until they got stalled.

One driver was stuck for some two hours until a tow truck arrived.

Two guys driving a minivan got stuck on Military Street under a railroad overpass. The water there was high enough for them to wait for a tow, rather than wade out in what would have been waist deep water.

Usually these are caused by clogged not damaged sewers and once debris is cleared the water drains.
