The massacre in Las Vegas has many wondering what, if anything, can be done at the hotel level to increase security?

Hotels in the Detroit area have not been willing to discuss any considerations being made to alter their security measures.

Dan Gilbert's Jack Entertainment now owns what's been known for years as the Greektown Casino in downtown Detroit.

And Monday, Mark Dunkeson, President & COO, JACK Entertainment, released the following statement to 7 Action News.

We are saddened by the tragic event that occurred yesterday. The gaming industry is a tight-knit community and our thoughts go out to our friends in Las Vegas and all those affected. The safety of our guests and team members is our top priority and we prepare for emergency events to ensure their safety. Our security teams continually undergo extensive critical incident training and we have numerous emergency protocols in place. In addition, our local law enforcement community has been a valuable resource to us that improves our ability to protect our guests and team members, and we continue to nurture strong relationships with this community.
