Man accused of hitting two bicyclists in Detroit bound over for trial

The man accused of hitting two bicyclists on Detroit's west side was bound over for trial on Monday.

Lamar Pierre Odom, 30, is charged with two counts of driving while license suspended causing serious injury and two counts of moving violation serious injury.

Police say he was driving around 11 a.m. on June 29 when he hit a man and a woman who were part of the Belle Isle cycling group. Both were seriously injured.

He was driving at a high rate of speed and tried to pass on the right side of the road. He tried to stop to avoid hitting another car, but slid about 55 feet and hit the man and woman.
