A man in his 20s was shot in the early hours of Saturday morning at the Greektown Hotel on St. Antoine St.
Police say the victim and the suspect were inside of a hotel room on the 9th floor when an argument ensued, resulting in a physical altercation.
The altercation continued into an elevator, where the suspect produced a handgun and fired a shot at the victim, striking him in the body, police say.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect, a 28-year-old man, was taken into police custody.
