There was construction equipment out front and a man on the roof of a home on 16th Street on Detroit's west side this morning. The home is slated to be demolished, but artist Aaron Timlin wants to prevent that from happening.

Timlin doesn't own the home, but is trying to prevent it's demolition. On his Facebook page, he's invited others to create art and hang it on the home.

"We are trying to save the house from demolition slated for Monday," he said. "Your art may help save the house. I will be sitting on the house. Literally house sitting. If they remove me and demolish the house, your art may be demolished as well," he wrote.

Today, Timlin sat on the roof until about 11:15 a.m.

Just before 11:00 a.m. a Detroit fire truck showed up at the house. The fire truck extended its ladder to the roof. Timlin came down to the ground and was quickly handcuffed and put into a police car.
