Detroit firefighters were busy Tuesday responding to several suspicious fires on Detroit’s east side.

Sources tell 7 Action News, crews responded to as many as ten suspicious fires starting around 10:00 in the morning.

Ida Banks was at home when she heard sirens.  The long time Detroit resident went to the front door to see what was going on.

“When I came out, I thought it was the house next door.” Ms. Banks said. “That’s too close, very scary.”

Sources say many of the fires were started in vacant homes and no injuries were reported.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity to report it to 1-800-44-ARSON.

Rewards of up to $5,000 will be paid for information leading to an arrest.
