(WXYZ) - Eminem's music publisher has filed a lawsuit accusing Facebook and its ad agency of copyright infringement.
In a complaint filed Monday night, Eminem's publisher, Eight Mile Style, claims Facebook and its ad agency used parts of the song "Under the Influence" during an event in April.
During that event, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced "Facebook Home," which is a new interface for Android phones.
The lawsuit accuses Facebook's ad agency, Wieden + Kennedy, of using video from the event to make an advertisement that was posted on YouTube and aired on TV. The lawsuit claims the agency revised the music for the ad, and that the change was made because the company realized it had infringed on the copyright of Eight Mile Style.
The lawsuit doesn't ask for a specific amount in damages, but does ask Facebook and its ad agency to pay for all legal fees.
