A Detroit police officer is recovering in the hospital after being the victim of a hit-and-run crash on Monday night.
It happened at West End and Jefferson on Detroit’s southwest side.
DPD officers were already on the scene because of a separate accident. A motorcycle crashed into the side of a semi truck. While police were working the scene, a woman driving a white pickup truck pulled up and started driving erratically to get around it.
Witnesses tell 7 Action News, the woman in the pickup truck hit a street sign and then ran over the foot of a Detroit police officer before driving away.
The female officer is expected to be OK, she in Detroit Receiving Hospital with an ankle injury, according to DPD.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken into custody a couple blocks down Jefferson.
