Having your car or truck stolen is horrible, but if you a pregnant single mom, losing your mode of transportation is especially tough.

That’s what happened to one woman in Detroit’s LaSalle Gardens neighborhood. It’s a story you will see only on 7.

What was inside the SUV now has her scrambling for help.

Shonice Eastman said, “This can’t be real. Maybe someone is playing a joke on me, maybe I parked it on the side of the house, thinking I parked it in the back.”

Eastman has been devastated since discovering her SUV was stolen from her garage.

It happened early Thursday morning near the corner of 14th and Delaware Streets in Detroit.

She found out her black 2004 GMC Yukon XL was stolen when she was trying to take her two youngest daughters to the doctors.

“Took a lot for me to get that truck up and running,” Eastman says.

Shonice bought that truck a few months ago for $2,400 and had spent a thousand dollars to maintain it.

This single mom of four, with another baby on the way, is facing another issue.

The truck had two booster seats and two car seats, plus items for the new baby.

“I can’t have family members help me because I don’t have any car seats, that’s the main thing that’s hurting the most,” she says.

She’s now forced to take the bus with her kids in tow, which makes it difficult because she is considered a high-risk pregnancy.

She said, “I’m nine months pregnant. I’m due at the end of October, and it’s really just hurts. It hurts a lot.”

The SUV’s license plate is DXA7332.

Now, she’s hoping our viewers will keep an eye out for her truck, and she hopes to get it back with the car seats still inside.

“It took a lot for me to get the truck," she says. "It took a lot for me to get it up and running.”

Eastman has set up a GoFundMe page.
