One of the suspects believed to have kidnapped 13-year-old Deontae Mitchell last week has waived extradition in Ohio.

Gregory Walker, 43, was found in Toledo on Thursday last week and arrested for the kidnapping. In court on Monday, he waived extradition, meaning Detroit police have three days to come pick him up.

Deontae's body was found in a field on Detroit's east side Thursday morning. Three other people, including Walker's girlfriend.

The first man to be officially charged in the kidnapping was 26-year-old Earnest Coleman. He was arraigned on Sunday and held on $1 million bond while the homicide investigation continues.

Sources tell 7 Action News that Deontae died from strangulation, and the Wayne County Medical Examiner says there were no signs of gunshot wounds.

Police say Walker kidnapped Mitchell last Tuesday night outside Nino's liquor store on Warren at Buckingham on Detroit's east side.

Walker was reportedly upset because he thought Mitchell or his cousin had taken about $75 that he accidentally dropped.

Witnesses say Walker was drunk and brandishing a gun.
