Detroit police say a man is in custody after entering the Jefferson North Assembly Plant with a gun. They have also recovered the weapon.

We're told no one was injured and the building was evacuated.

Detroit police believe it stemmed from a domestic situation and FCA says no shots were fired. The suspect is a former employee and is the boyfriend of a woman who currently works at the palnt.

Police say the couple had been having problems, and someone saw the suspect and called their union steward. That's when eight union stewards began searching for the suspect, who they believed to be armed, found him and subdued him.

Employees are being allowed back into the plant. One employee tells 7 Action News they heard there was a shooter and then got a phone call to clear the building. They were outside for about 20 minutes before going back in.

According to police, the suspect is connected to at least four carjackings in Detroit on Saturday, with the first one happening at 6 a.m.

Police believe the fourth carjacking is how he got into the plant, but they are still investigating.
