A couple of would-be thieves spent hours breaking into a liquor store on the city's west side.

The entire attempt -- from start to finish -- was caught on surveillance video.

This was no easy task. It took the would be thieves nearly 2 hours to break through A metal door, A glass door and then a metal gate

When they finally got in to New Joy Express - dragging trash cans with them – they were after two things: liquor and cigarettes.

It happened last month, but the storeowner called 7 Action News after seeing a similar story we aired on Monday night - brazen thieves throwing bottles of liquor in trash cans at a liquor store.

It's unclear whether the break-ins are related.

The thieves in the New Joy Express robbery were out of luck. They couldn’t get to the liquor and cigarettes.

However, they did cause almost $4,800 in damage to 5 doors.

If you know who these guys are call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
