Don Brock needed a new air conditioning unit and a new hot water heater, so he called a local contractor to do the job. After getting a quote and paying the contractor up front, the 68-year-old Vietnam veteran said he never heard from the contractor again.

Brock said he hired the man back in October at the cost of $3,450. It all happened at the same time he found out his only daughter was dying.

After filing a police report, the contractor messaged him saying he hurt his back and would come by, but he never did.

When 7 Action News Reporter Jennifer Bisram confronted the contractor, he again told us he hurt his back. Then, he slammed the door in her face.

So far, Brock is still out the money he paid to the contractor, and still needs a hot water heater. Right now, he said he's making due with what he has and hopes the contractor will do the right thing.
