Detroit police have released the funeral and visitation information for Sgt. Kenneth Steil, who was shot last Monday and died Saturday due to complications from his injuries.
According to DPD, visitation will happen on Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 22 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m at Wujek Calcaterra & Sons Funeral Home on Schoenherr Rd. in Sterling Heights.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Overlake St. in St. Clair Shores.
Internment will be at Resurrection Cemetery on Clinton River Rd. in Clinton Township.
Steil, 46, was chasing a fugitive last Monday when he was shot with a sawed-off shotgun.
He leaves behind a wife and two little boys.
Just days ago, he talked about making a quick recovery and returning back to the force where he had spent the last 20 years, most recently having worked in special ops in the 9th precinct.
