The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Gary Cox of Gregory was killed after a tree fell on his SUV.

We're also told his 22-year-old pregnant fiancée Alicia Emmons was in the car, but suffered only minor injuries.

Deputies say high winds knocked down the tree just before 4 pm on Pingree Road in Marion Township, near Jewel Road.

Terrie Sweeney tells 7 Action News it was an old tree on her property that fell. Sweeney says witnesses came rushing up to her house for help and she called 911.

She says, "It's upsetting. It was one of my trees. It was a tree on my property."

We're told Emmons was more than seven months pregnant. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
