The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a strange woman they say tried to get a child into her car.
It happened Wednesday afternoon at the Hidden Creek subdivision on Callaway Court.
The middle school student says she was getting off the school bus heading home when an African-American woman approached her in a white mini-van telling her to get in the car.
The girl ran home and called her mother.
Undersheriff Jeff Warder ask that parents and students stay aware.
“This can happen anywhere, it doesn't matter whether you live in Howell or the city of Detroit or where you live you need to be aware of what's going on."
The Livingston Educational Service Agency sent a notification to parents letting them know there would be an increase in police presence at the schools.
