HOWELL, Mich. (WXYZ) — Students at Three Fires Elementary School in Howell were held up at dismissal when a parent accidentally shot himself in the leg.
School officials say the parent has a concealed carry weapon that somehow accidentally discharged, hitting himself in the leg.
The school put security precautions into place and held students while first responders arrived on the scene. They were dismissed once the situation stabalized.
Officials say no students were in any danger. No one else was injured.
The parent's condition isn't known.
Michigan State Police are investigating.
