Beach closed at Lake St. Clair Metropark due to high E. coli levels, several others also closed

Huron Clinton Metroparks officials say they've closed the beach at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Macomb County due to high E. coli levels.

"Due to elevated E. coli levels, the beach at Lake St. Clair Metropark is closed until further notice," a statement said. "The rest of the park is open and available during regular park hours."

The Lake St. Clair Metropark beach isn't the only beach to be closed because today. The closed beaches include:

  • Allen Lake which is a privately owned beach with public access, in White Lake Twp. It has been closed since June 21st, due to “high bacteria levels.”
  • Luna Pier beach in Monroe County has been closed since June 22nd, due to “high bacteria levels.”
  • Scotch Lake beach in West Bloomfield for Scotch Lake residents – closed today
  • St. Clair Shores Memorial Park Beach – closed today
