Four people facing charges in connection with Harrison Township apartment explosion

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - Four people are set to be charged in connection with an explosion that damaged nine units at a Harrison Township apartment complex in March.

Officials with the Macomb County Sheriff's office say an investigation has determined the apartment that exploded was being used to process drugs by using butane and propane to extract oil of hashish from marijuana.

A search of the apartment also found a shotgun and an assault rifle, with ammunition.

A 19-year-old suspect will be charged with Manufacturing Marijuana, Maintaining a Drug House and Felony Firearm charges.

A 23-year-old old suspect will be charged with Manufacturing Marijuana.

A 22-year-old suspect and a 21-year-old suspect will be charged with Disorderly Conduct: loitering in a place of illegal occupation.

We are withholding the suspect's names until they are officially charged. They are due to be arraigned in 41B District Court in Clinton Township.

The 23-year-old, the 21-year-old and the 19-year-old were all injured in the explosion.
