MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is conducting a sweep this week to find parents looking to dodge paying child support.

Starting Monday, the Friend of Court Enforcement sweep will be looking to arrest people with outstanding warrants.

“We encourage individuals with bench warrants for non-payment of support to appear at the Friend of the Court between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to resolve their warrants," Thomas Blohm, Director of Friend of the Court, said in a news release. "If an individual appears with a good faith effort we will work with them for a positive resolution.”

There are certain programs people can qualify for that can help with child support payments, officials say.

The Macomb County Friend of the Court Office is located at 10 N. Main St. in Mt. Clemens.
