Shelby Township police investigate possible coyote attack

Shelby Township Police are investigating a possible coyote attack that left two people injured.

It happened Sunday around 3 a.m. near Janis and Harry Streets.

The victims were walking a dog when they were attacked by an animal. The dog was not injured but the victims were treated at the hospital with serious wounds to the arm.

It has not been determined if the animal is indeed a coyote. Some witnesses have described it as a husky or German Shepard.

According to several residents, they believe it is not a dog.

Police add they have gotten calls about a coyote in the Shelby Township and Utica areas.
