STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Late at night with the headlights off, a dark sedan is seen on surveillance video pulling up to a Sterling Heights home and opening fire. The bullets shattered the back window of a car in the driveway, and went through the windows of the house with a family inside.

“We were sitting at home and we just hear 10 bullets go through our house, the front door, window, my car," said Zina Kejbou. "And we call the police.”

Sterling Heights police showed up and surveyed the scene. The homeowners say they were targeted by a family member trying to send a message, or do even worse.

“Why he doing this in the house around the kids," said Shaaln Kejbou. "If they have a problem with somebody, why they didn't catch me somewhere else in the street?”

As of Monday afternoon, police do not have a suspect in custody. They described the vehicle as a dark sedan. They believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community.

That night, with multiple bullets flying into their home, the family says they and their neighbors are lucky no one was hit. One of the bullets even came out the back of the house, and hit a neighbors tree. The family is now on edge, hoping an arrest is made soon.

“It's a nightmare," Zina said. "I have two kids and a husband. I'm scared for my kids and my husband, I can't sleep right now.”

This case is still under investigation by Sterling Heights Police, and they are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
