Thieves target public restrooms and Roseville Police say they weren't after purses or wallets

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) - Roseville Police are trying to find out who is stealing plumbing fixtures from toilets in public restrooms.

The thefts have occurred in the afternoon hours of December 27, 28 & 29. So far, the thief has hit a McDonalds, a Tim Hortons and a Mobil Gas station.

Police say a man is going into the men's restrooms and using tools to quickly remove the exposed piping and valves that lead to the toilets and urinal.

At one location, we're told the thief took the automatic flush valve assembly.

In one case, witnesses described a possible suspect as standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a light brown Carhartt-type jacket with a blue shirt.

We're told his race and body-type are unclear, but he was seen getting into the passenger side of a red 4-door foreign-make vehicle being driven by another subject.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Roseville Police.
