“It would be a miracle if I found him,” said Terry Samples of her brother.

Terry Samples now lives in Warren, but says she grew up in Redford with her mom, dad, and seven siblings.  That big family had a big secret.

She overheard conversations that there should have been one more child, her twin, who was given away at birth. She never knew if it was true until she needed to order a birth certificate.

“I saw it on my birth certificate,” said Samples. “From that day on it was always a mission to find him.”

She contacted the hospital. She was told a fire destroyed many of their records from the time period she was searching through.

“Supposedly his name was Gary, but I don’t know if that is true,” said Samples.

Her mom, even on her deathbed, refused to answer her questions.

“It would mean a lot to just get some closure. Is he okay?  Does he look like me? What has he been doing all his life?” says Terry.

Her daughter this week decided to post a picture of Terry on Facebook holding a sign.

It says she is searching for her twin brother born on June 12, 1957 at Herman Keifer Hospital in Detroit. Her parents names were Richard Samples and Jeanette Slayton.

She is hoping the power of social media will reunite them.

“Everybody please share my post. Share it everywhere. Help me find my twin,” pleads Terry.
