It was a special reunion for two people, after a Sterling Heights woman came to the rescue of a dying teen in a restaurant.

The woman saved the young man's life in a restaurant several weeks ago, but hadn't seen him since.

When the two finally met, they hugged each other tight at a City Council meeting in Sterling Heights.

"I’m happy I get to see her today, and I gave her a big old hug and everything," said 15-year-old Robert Brown III.  Brown III, suffered a cardiac arrest in late August at the Country Cabin restaurant in Sterling Heights.

"I was so excited to see him and happy he’s here and he has a second chance at life," said Susan Pendygraft.  She immediately jumped into action when she saw Brown III hit the floor.

"He needed help and I needed to do something," said Pendygraft.

Robert Brown III is thankful to the first responders and Susan, for saving his life.

"Knowing that everybody in the Sterling Heights community care about me and the first responders came to help bring me back to life, it means a lot," said Brown III.

Two strangers, no more, now connected for the rest of their lives

"If it wasn't for Susan, I wouldn't ever be able to see my little cousin, or my coaches and family members so I just want to tell her thank you again, said Brown III.

"I’m just thankful everyday that I was able to do that and be there for him and maybe for someone else someday maybe for someone else," said Pendygraft.
