CLAWSON, Mich. (WXYZ) — If you’re a foodie that loves adventures, a website has mapped out the Ultimate BBQ Road Trip. Go Shindig posted a route to check out 49 barbecue restaurants from coast to coast.
That includes Woodpile BBQ Shack in Clawson, the only eatery mentioned from Michigan.
Ryan Loiselle is the general manager of Woodpile BBQ.
“It’s a huge honor,” he said.
According to Go Shindig, you can do the trip in 10 days spending $700 on food and more than $1,300, if you include the price of gas.
“It’s a cool concept. It’s just a good idea for anybody who’s kinda, not necessarily like me, but a barbecue enthusiast.”
Go Shindig says they chose Woodpile because the price of an average meal is affordable and the number of positive reviews on TripAdvisor.
Woodpile made our Top 7 BBQ places list over the summer, so it’s no surprise this family friendly fast casual eatery is getting some national attention.
“Come on out give us a try, whether it’s your first time or 100th time you are always welcome back.”
Business has been so great for Woodpile they are opening a second location in Madison Heights on 11 Mile this winter.
