It’s mission almost accomplished for a promise set in stone – a driveway being installed at the home of the 86-year-old woman scammed out of $4,000.

The old driveway they removed was blacktop on top of old concrete.

It was sloppily sprayed - even over sprayed - by scammers who convinced the woman who lives alone she had to pay them.

The outrageous part that caused everyone to respond was they drove her to her credit union to make the withdrawal - half of her life savings.

Police are still looking for the two men, including the bald guy who helped her with her walker and oxygen tank.

We’re still not showing her face or using her name to keep her safe.

A woman in Clarkston who wants to remain anonymous gave a $4,000 check last week and cap seal coating contractors are installing an entirely new concrete driveway.

Van Horn Concrete in Waterford donated the material for the driveway. They saw the scam story.

Cap Seal Coating is providing the labor.

Normally, this total job would have cost about $7,000.
