Drivers at one of the most dangerous roundabouts in Michigan have expressed mixed feelings at new fences put up as an effort to slow drivers down.

The intersection of M-5 and Pontiac Trail had over 100 accidents last year, and the Road Commission for Oakland County is using the fences as an experimental solution.

RCOC Spokesman Craig Bryson said the average speed of traffic coming off is between 30 and 33 mph, but it should be between 18 and 23 mph.

The theory is that when visibility is good, drivers become overconfident and drive faster. They are hoping the fences will help slow drivers down.
