An elderly couple has concerns about their deck.

They say they got a new one put in about a year and a half ago and not long after realized there were several things wrong with it.

Since then they have been trying to get in contact with the contractor, with no luck.

The couple says they paid over $7,000 for a new deck in 2014. Now, they say they need a new deck.

Eighty-year old John Chuncko says his new deck is dangerous. It’s now off-limits to his wife and grandchildren out of fear of someone getting hurt.

He says Roger Silvestro Builders built the deck back in September of 2014 and when he realized there were things that were not done right, he kept calling the contractor.

He says he’s tried to get the deck redone, but no-one wants to do anything with it the way it is.

One contractor said the workmanship of the decking is unacceptable; homeowner needs to have it removed and re-installed properly.

We got in contact with Roger yesterday and he did go by the house last night, but the Chunkos didn’t want to talk with him.

John says he shouldn’t have to pay for a whole new deck after paying $7,300 for this one.

I did talk with Roger on the phone again today. I am waiting to hear back from him.

We will certainly keep you posted on how this one turns out.
