Darlene McKenzie was a young mother in 1975. She was just 15-years-old and had a one-year-old baby. But one day, the teen who lived with her family on Muirland in Detroit, left home and never returned.

Her body was found on June 10, 1975, in Farmington Hills in the area of 696 and Haggerty Road. For decades, McKenzie was buried as a Jane Doe who had been murdered by strangulation.

Recently, DNA helped to identify the Jane Doe as the missing teen mother, Darlene McKenzie.

Today, Darlene's mother and the daughter she left behind are pleading with the public for anyone who can help solve her murder.

Anyone who can help Darlene's family find the justice they deserve will remain anonymous.

A $2,500 cash reward is being offered for any tip that leads to an arrest. And if the tip is reported to Crime Stoppers by Wednesday at midnight, $1,000 will be added to the reward amount, bringing it to $3,500.

Crime Stoppers does not wait for a conviction to pay for a tip that has led to an arrest.
