Ferndale police say they are investigating a letter with anti-LGBTQ messaging that have been sent to a number of residents.

Officers say the letter was sent by an unknown person who mentions visiting during the summer and seeing "rainbow" flags on home and businesses. The letter cites several bible verses and a pamphlet titled Doom Town.

Police say while the letter contains no threats, " its condemning language and the violent tone of the accompanying literature can be inferred as threatening."

The police department is asking anyone who received a letterto email detectives. You should include your name, email, telephone number and a photograph of the letter and envelope.
