Thanksgiving Day is on the way.  When it comes to the feast, the turkey is usually the main attraction. But did you know, it can be a tasty dessert too?

7 Action News payed a visit to Gayle’s Chocolates in Royal Oak, where turkeys aren’t just savory, they’re also sweet.

Owner, Gayle Harte has been in the chocolate business in the same spot here, for more than 30 years.

She decided to do something yummy and fun to help people celebrate Thanksgiving Day dessert, in the form of seven and a half pound chocolate turkey with a bunch of sweets to stuff it too!

"Caramel corn, chocolate caramel corn, cherries and cashews, chocolate maple leaves, chocolate wishbones, acorns and drumbsticks”, says Gayle.

When it comes tackling this big bird, clearly you can’t carve it, you smash it!

Gayle started this business because she loves chocolate. She couldn’t find a good piece, so Gayle decided to make it herself.

“I can not think of a better business really and it makes people happy”, says Gayle with big smile.

Gayle is still taking orders for her chocolate turkeys. She has locations in Royal Oak, Detroit Metro Airport. She’s thinking of opening a chocolate spot in Downtown Detroit.
