The next phase of the I-75 reconstruction and widening project began Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, the Adams Rd. entrance to northbound I-75 will close until mid-December. Traffic will be routed to westbound M-59 to northbound I-75.
On Tuesday, Sept. 13 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., I-75 will be intermittently reduced to one lane each way north and south. That's to prep for the coming traffic shift until mid-December from Coolidge Highway to Squirrel Rd.
After 2 p.m., all highway traffic shifts to the southbound side with two lanes in each direction.
Squirrel Rd. will also close over I-75 at 9 a.m. Thursday until mid-December.
MDOT is also warning drivers that I-75 will have a total closure from M-59 to Crooks Rd. from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19. so crews can demolish the Squirrel Rd. overpass.
