Interviews to be held for Oakland County executive position

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Oakland County Board of Commissioners will hold interviews on Wednesday to find a new county executive.

Twenty-one candidates applied for the job, but the field has been narrowed down to five finalists.

The interviews will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and are open to the public. A decision is expected as early as Friday.

There is currently an interim executive in office following the death of longtime Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, who died at the age of 80 earlier in August.
