A deadly accident is under investigation after a Ford Fusion rear-ended an Oakland County road maintenance vehicle.
It happened around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday on westbound I-696 between Greenfield and Southfield Roads.
Police say the man who died was in his 30s and was the only person inside the Ford Fusion.
He lost control of his vehicle and rear-ended the road crew vehicle, police said.
The man died at the scene.
None of the road crew workers was hurt.
The westbound side of the freeway was closed until 4 a.m. while Michigan State Police investigated the accident.
