WATERFORD, Mich. (WXYZ) — We continue to follow the disturbing allegations of a Northville teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.
The victim told prosecutors the incidents took place 10 years ago.
Jason Dean was charged in Clarkston, but is now facing additional charges in Waterford where he allegedly had a secret apartment.
The Northville High School teacher back in court today, this time in Waterford.
Dean is facing additional charges after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
The victim told prosecutors it happened 10 years when she was 14-years-old and an 8th grader at Cedar Crest Academy in Clarkston.
Prosecutors say Dean was the victim’s teacher and soccer and basketball coach at the time.
He was 26 at the time.
The new charges come after Dean was accused of having a secret apartment in Waterford where he allegedly had sex with the girl.
Other alleged incidents happened at school, after school events, and various locations.
““In January of 2010, in White Lake the defendant had sexual intercourse at the victim’s parents house, in February in 2010 the defendant had sexual intercourse with the victim outside of the dance in Springfield Township in the defendant’s parents’ van,” Assistant Prosecutor Justin Davis told the court.
Dean was given a $500,000 cash bond.
The Oakland County Sherriff’s Office has now seized Dean’s electronics to further investigate...
“He’s put in a position of trust to take care of kids, my kids your kids and he violated that trust,” says Oakland County Sheriff’s Major Christopher Wundrach.
Prosecutors said in court that Dean admitted to having a sexual relationship with the victim, but his attorney denies this and says his client is innocent.
“This was merely an arraignment, the allegations are simply that, they are allegations we are here to fight the case,” says Steven Schwartz.
Law enforcement officials are investigating to see if there are additional victims.
Dean will be back in court February 10.
